Mozaic Chd Dev Center HEADER

Mozaic Child Development Center, a community program by Mozaic Senior Life, is a nurturing place for children of all denominations. The program is State licensed and open 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Our program is designed to promote the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of the children in our care.

Our Philosophy

Babies, toddlers and preschoolers are natural learners. Children are happy and excited at play and are also learning. They learn about the world around them naturally by manipulating, smelling, observing and investigating everything within their reach. They are explorers groping around for sensory answers to their mental questions. They learn by doing!

Our Mission

At Mozaic Child Development Center we provide a safe, happy, and peaceful environment that enriches the lives of the children in our care. Our focus on friendship, compassion, and cooperation is the foundation for the curriculum. Classroom activities are developmentally appropriate, anti-bias, and multicultural; each child has opportunities for success regardless of gender and abilities. We strive to support each child and their families through a partnership of caring and connection.

Communicating with families about their child’s development is key! Each day we provide parents with real time access to their children’s activities through an online communication app. Parents receive updates, photos, and information about the child’s care and learning throughout the day.

Play and education go hand in hand and children learn best through hands on experiences. Our program:

• Uses the features of our modern facility to promote learning through play. In our indoor playroom you can find children enjoying movement and music classes, enjoying a session of yoga, riding bikes, or climbing and running through an obstacle course.

• Encourages and supports children’s ability to question, think, and problem solve

• Promotes building peer, family, and community relationships. Preschool aged children enjoy participating in Intergenerational programming – including art projects, story times, music and dance.

As parents, you know your child best and we work to develop strong partnerships between your home and Mozaic Child Development Center to build and support the future success for all the children we have the privilege to share time with each day. It is through play and active hands-on experiences that children develop a love of learning.

Experienced Teachers

The professionals who provide care and learning opportunities for the children are experienced teachers and blend the highest standards in early childhood education and development with nurturing care. All teachers are certified in First Aid and CPR and meet rigorous training standards annually.

Preschool 6

We cater to each infant's individual schedule and needs and record all activities in our online communication app. Parents are able to give teachers vital information about their child’s daily routine, and have access, in real time, to how their child’s day is going. We welcome and encourage breastfeeding and formula feeding for infants. We have a quiet space for breastfeeding should you have the time to visit with us during the day. From tummy time to helping infants acquire new skills of feeding themselves, learning to crawl, and learning to walk we are dedicated to making each day the best it can be for the children as they begin their journey on to the toddler world of independence.

Infant 02-1

As toddlers, children explore their new world with curiosity and eagerness. Safety is the priority while allowing them the necessary room to grow. At this stage of development, children will begin to use words, socialize, understand their emotions, learn to use the toilet, enjoy learning and repeating songs, and developing their large and small muscles. This adds up to a very busy day for happy, active toddlers.

Preschool 7

Our preschool program provides a teacher planned curriculum as well as time for emergent curriculum that is child driven. Importance is placed on promoting a strong sense of self as both individuals and members of the group. An important goal of our curriculum is to help children become independent, self-confident, enthusiastic learners. Our program guides and develops their successful socialization while providing developmentally appropriate learning opportunities.

Mozaic Child Development Center is located in The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg campus on Park Avenue, conveniently located off the Merritt Parkway exit 47. There is a large enclosed outdoor play area with bikes, riding toys, a sandbox, and other equipment that promotes gross motor development. In addition to the playground we enjoy stroller walks around our beautiful campus and time spent in a specially designated indoor playroom.
